Itinerary
Day 1
Monkey Island - Paiche
- Transfer to the port Bellavista Nanay, before boarding the typical boat “Pamacari” we will visit the riverside market where you can see typical products of the Amazon rainforest, variety of fish, the famous grilled SURI, also variety of fruits and agricultural products
- We will initially navigate the Nanay River and then the Amazon to the private project “Isla de los Monos” located on the banks of the Amazon River, it will meet 5 varieties of primates that are in danger of extinction, due to poaching, You will know the conservation and protection project, our guide will provide information about the primates that live here, complemented by a walk through the jungle
- After this visit we will return to the city of Iquitos
- We will have lunch at the facilities of the tourist shelter “El Río” restful rest in the hammock house or a walk to get to know the small town
- We will continue the return and visit the “Fundo Pedrito” to appreciate the largest freshwater fish “El Paiche” or arapaima gigas, also the majestic aquatic lilac Victoria Regia, also turtles and alligators
