With this tour you will visit the Colca Canyon. And you will also visit the place where the Amazon River originates, the longest in the world.

Itinerary
Day 1
Colca Canyon - Chivay
  • 02:30 We will pick you up and then we will travel from Arequipa for 3 hours to Chivay; The Colca Canyon capital heading northwest behind Chachani covered in snow.
  • We will arrive at the town of Yanque there we will have breakfast. Then we continue driving for 1 and a half more towards the most visited point "La Cruz" of the Condor here, we can see the depth of the canyon and the flight of the Condor.
  • The area features beautiful typical towns, such as Yanque and Maca, colonial churches, gently people with typical sewing dresses, hundreds of pre-Inca terraces that are still used with Andean crops such as corn, quinoa, kiwicha, among others.
  • In addition, we will visit the thermal water pools that the entrance fee is additional for which we have 45 free minutes.
  • Then we will visit the city of Chivay for lunch.
  • After lunch, we will leave you at the hotel in this town of Chivay and you will have the afternoon free for acclimatization.
  • Night in Chivay.
Day 2
The great source of the Amazon river - Arequipa
  • Very early breakfast
  • 5:00 am Pick up from the hostel. (For Carhuasanta - 01 hour walk on this day)
  • We will leave Chivay by private transport to the place called Carhuasanta (5,000 masl) in a time of 02:30 hours. We will be there along the route, the landscape impresses us with lagoons, Andean birds, alpaca llamas and flora.
  • Also small flocks, where families dedicate themselves to raising their llamas and alpacas. Carhuasanta is where the crystal clear waters flow from a rock wall, and it is one of the origins of the great Amazon river and that will flow into the Atlantic Ocean crossing along the Andes mountain range.
  • 12:00 We will be back in Chivay if they only visit the source (Carhuasanta) and there will be enough time for lunch.
  • 13:15 Pick up to return to Arequipa; Along the way, we will stop at the highest pass: the view of the volcanoes and the snow-capped mountains in Patapampa (4,800m - 15,000ft).
  • Later we will see wild vicuñas, alpacas and llamas in the Pampa Cañahuas national reserve, some birds such as flamingos, ibis, Andean gooze, ducks, Andean eagle "Kara Kara". (18:00 hrs. Approx. Back to Arequipa.)
  • We recommend that you bring a warm jacket for the night, bring sunscreen for the day, accessories for the thermal baths, cash to pay for lunch and the entrance fee.
  • End of the tour: In the historical center of the city of Arequipa or at your hotel
